Standings
The top team this week is the Kadokawa Sakura Knights. Besides Sawazaki, All of the players got a 40,000+ 1st place. With both Uchikawa and Okada getting a 12,000 hand twice in a row and Hori Shingo with an exciting South 4 for 1st place, it’s hard to identify to top play this week. With their results this week, it brings them above 0 and puts them up to 2nd place.
2nd in this week’s performance rankings is the Shibuya Abemas. They were at the top of the overall standings and they stay there with a quadruple 2nd week. As is Abemas standard, all the players contributed to this club. Unless something crazy happens, they will be making it to the semifinals.
The Akasaka Drivens place 3rd in this week’s performance rankings. Still being on the borderline, they move themselves a bit further away from the line. Maruyama still has one more game to meet her 10 game minimum, so I expect her to come in next week. Other than that, they need to find 1sts to make it to the safe zone.
Heading to the negatives, the Konami Mahjong Fight Club place 4th in the performance rankings. The team still holds the elusive 6th place position, but they are far from comfortable. They won’t be facing the 7th place Sega Sammy Phoenix this week, but they will be facing the 5th place Akasaka Drivens for all 4 of their games next week. If they want to get into a more comfortable position, they need to do well against them in those games.
5th is the next team in the performance rankings. They continue to decline slowly, but they are still 3rd place in the overall standings. However, with around 200 points between them and 7th place, they can’t relax. Facing only teams below them next week, they will need to stay strong.
The Sega Sammy Phoenix take 6th place this week in the performance rankings, It wasn’t a really good week for them, with the only upside being that the Pirates did worse. Facing the Pirates for their games next week, next week will be the week where they see if the Pirates will be a challenger for a semifinal spot.
7th place in this week’s performance rankings is the U-Next Pirates. In all 4 of the games that were played, South 4 wasn’t kind to them. Kobayashi got overtaken twice, Mizuhara was unlucky and dealt in and Asakura was unable to get anything better than a 3rd with his dealer turn. With 16 more games left for the team, they really need to step it up. Facing against the Phoenix for all 4 games next week, this will be the most important week of they season.
Finally, placing last in the performance rankings, we have Team Raiden. Twice the team went to the negatives and all three players got a last this week. This week’s results erased the gains they had from last week’s performance. Their drop also drops them down to 4th place in the standings.
This Week’s M-League Stats
That’s all for this week! There are 4 more weeks left to play and the matchups are sure going to be exciting. We already know the Shibuya Abemas are taking one of the playoff spots, but what about the other 5? Will the Abemas be dethroned by one of the other teams? Can the Phoenix and the Pirates work their way out? Will we see any more South 4 groans from the Pirates locker room? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see!
