Standings
The top team in this semifinal quarter performance ranking is the Konami Mahjong Fight Club. The record-breaking game from Sasaki and an important win for Takamiya raised the team’s score significantly. The comeback performance puts the team into 4th place in the standings.
2nd place in the performance ranking is the Shibuya Abemas. After Ooi’s win on Friday marking their first win in the semifinals, they took that momentum and got a 1st and a 2nd on Monday. For the team, the result was good enough to take back the top spot in the standings.
Going into the negatives, the Kadokawa Sakura Knights take 3rd spot in the performance rankings. Okada Sayaka started this quarter off the quarter well with her best performance this season, but the men dropped the ball. The last place from Hori during Sasaki’s rampage and a bad decision during a haneman potential hand from Sawazaki were the big facts in the small drop. The Sakura Knights go back to 2nd place in the overall standings.
Team Raiden takes 4th place in the performance ranking. Having Hagiwara play against Sasaki proved to be a fatal decision, even though he did get 3rd in that game. Kurosawa was able to save the team in the last game, but the damage had been done and the team sits in 6th place, 156.7pts away from a playoff spot.
5th in the performance rankings is the EX Furinkazan. The high-pressure environment and time is not doing the team any favours. The team couldn’t get a 1st this quarter and some unfortunate deal-ins while in riichi hurt Katsumata quite a bit. The team sits 154.3pts behind 4th place. The team has to win big in the next 4 games, else it will be the end of the EX Furinkazan as we know it.
Finally, placing last in the performance rankings, we has the Akasaka Drivens. A last place from Murakami and a -11.9 second place from Sonoda set the mood for the quarter. The two more 3rds made them drop triple digits this quarter. The team still stays in 3rd, but they are close to dropping to 4th.
This Week’s M-League Stats
That’s all for now! By the end of the day Friday, we will know which four teams will be heading to the finals! Can the EX Furinkazan or Team Raiden climb their way out of danger? Can the Akasaka Drivens and the Konami Mahjong Fight Club stay out of danger? Will the Shibuya Abemas, the Kadokawa Sakura Knights or an underdog take 1st place at the end of the semis? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see!
