M-League 2021 Week 3: Yakuman Tenpai

Standings

Taking the top spot in this week’s performance ranking is the Konami Mahjong Fight Club. After spending too much time at the bottom, the team got two big wins in the last two games of the week by the ladies of the team, including Date Arisa’s very first 1st. The +78.2 gain and 2/0/2/0 record brings the team into 5th place.

In 2nd place is the continually strong EX Furinkazan. Katsumata finally makes his debut this week and he did not disappoint. He got a strong 2nd and 1st place in his first two games, as well as a strong 3rd in his next game. A big 2nd from Aki helped the team get through and finish the week with a gain of +61.8 and a record of 1/2/1/0 to hold onto 1st place.

The Sega Sammy Phoenix are 3rd in the performance ranking. An incredible 1st place for the Tojo gave the team a big boost. Compounded with a rise from Kondo, the team got a solid gain of +47.7 and a record of 1/2/0/1 to move up to 2nd place.

The Shibuya Abemas are 4th place in the standings. Ooi getting a 1st, everyone avaoiding 4th, the team looks like the team that they were last season. They peeked their head into the positives and rise to 3rd in the overall standings.

To round out the gaining teams, the Akasaka Drivens come 5th in the performance ranking this week. The team was present on both sides of the spectrum, with Murakami’s extremely large -26,300 4th place being balanced by 1sts from Maruyama and Taro. The team remains in 7th place, but gains +11.1 from their record of 2/0/1/1 this week.

Going into the negatives, the U-Next Pirates take 6th place in this week’s performance standings. Though the team continues to struggle to find a 1st place, they are keeping their losses to a minimum by getting lots of 2nds. The only loss was again by team captain Kobayashi, struggling to find wins. With a record of 0-3-0-1 and a losing only 12.8pts, they remain stagnant at 4th place.

7th place in the performance ranking are the Kadokawa Sakura Knights. A South 4 strong showing from Hori gave him a 1st place, but the other three games of the week failed to show equal strength. The team remains in 6th place with their -20.3 loss and a record of 1/0/2/1 from this week.

And, in last place, we have Team Raiden. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. After doing very well in the first two weeks of the season, they dropped hard and got last in all four of their games. Each player getting a 4th, the team lost -198.3 pts and finishes dowm om 7th. They will really need to shake off those losses and get back to fighting form next week.
