M-League 2021 Week 7: Legendary

Standings

The top performer this week is the Konami Mahjong Fight Club. With everyone except for Sasaki getting a 1st place, they begin to close the gap on the EX Furinkazan. The MVP of the week is undoubtedly Date Arisa, who put on a record-breaking show. With the +197.3 gain and record of 3/0/0/1, the team brings the gap down to 190.3.

2nd in the performance rankings is the Kadokawa Sakura Knights. Despite an unfortunate heavy loss from Okada, Sawazaki and Uchikawa stepped up to get three 1sts for the team. With Uchikawa’s double 1st and his sanbaiman in the second half of the week, the team moved into the positives. The team this week had a gain of +111.4 and and a record of 3/0/0/1.

3rd place in this week’s performance rankings and having their 5th positives week in 6 weeks is the EX Furinkazan. Despite Katsumata losing in his chance to get his 5th win in a row, 2nds from the Nikaido sisters and a strong 1st from newcomer Matsugase helped keep the team afloat. With a +32.5 gain and a 1/2/0/1 record this week, the team remains in 1st place.

Rounding out the positive group and breaking their three week losing streak are the Sega Sammy Phoenix. Kondo was able to get his first 1st of the season and the rest of the team able to avoid 4th to remain positive. The team gained +23.9 and had a record of 1/1/2/0 to move out of 8th and into 7th place.

Going into the negatives, the Akasaka Drivens take 5th spot in the performance rankings. After two straight weeks of being the top performer, the team had a little slip. They had three 2nds to make some small gains, but it was erased by a difficult drop from Murakami. With a record of 0/3/0/1 this week and a loss of -44.1, the team drops down to 5th in the overall standings.

6th are the Shibuya Abemas. Experiencing their biggest drop of the season, the team just couldn’t find either 1st or 2nd. They were able to lessen the blow by getting 3rds instead of 4ths, but it still hurt them and made them fall into the negatives. The team ends the week with a 0/0/3/1 record and a loss of -93.7, dropping down from 3rd to 5th.

The U-Next Pirates come in 7th in the performance rankings. In their worst performance of the year. The dreaded red 5s discard by Asakura haunted Pirates fans with the loss, with the rest of the team being unable to find a 1st. Even Kobayashi, who finished his game with 4 wins and no deal-in, only gained +9.0 for the performance. The team had a record of 0/1/1/2 and a loss of -113.1 to fall down to almost -200.0.

And finally, taking last place and being negative for the 6th week in a row, we have Team Raiden. 3rds from Hagiwara and a 4th from Setokuma, the team continues to fall further and further. Even the 2nd by Kurosawa was a big -12.4 drop because it was Date’s record-setting game. With a 0/1/2/1 record and a loss of -114.2, the team drops down to 8th place and falls below the -300.0 mark to -337.1.
