Standings
The top performing team this week is the Shibuya Abemas. Getting either 1st or second in all four of their games, the team did well to reverse the results from the previous two weeks and get back into the positives. With the 2/2/0/0 record and +139.0 gain, the team moves up from 4th to 3rd in the overall standings.
The U-Next Pirates take 2nd spot in the performance rankings. With an amazing breakthrough performance from Asakura and Ishibashi’s first 1st of the season, the team is finally gaining some ground with their second week of positive results. with the 2/0/1/1 record and +124.2 point gain, the team moves up in the dragons from 6th to 5th, within a 1st place win of getting into the positives.
Getting their 3rd positive week in a row and coming 3rd in this week’s performance rankings is the Sega Sammy Phoenix. The team has managed to avoid getting a last for the past 12 games (gaining 104.8 points since the end of week 6). Though the team fell down to 6th place this week, they increase the gap between them and 7th place to 147.4 points.
Rounding out the positive teams and breaking their 8-week negative streak is Team Raiden. It’s not much, but it’s honest work. A win by Kurosawa on the team’s last game of the week to break the team’s 18-game winless streak could be the turning point for the team, the start of something bigger. The team’s even 1/1/1/1 record and +5.3 gain doesn’t do much in terms of placement, but it does bring them a tiny step closer to 7th place.
Going into the negatives, the EX Furinkazan take 5th place in the performance rankings. Despite it being the team’s 2nd lowest scoring week, the sheer number of points the team has mean that the 0/2/2/0 record and -33.0 loss is just a small scratch for them. Since the next two teams below them did worse than them, the gap between them actually increased.
6th place in the performance rankings is the Konami Mahjong Fight Club. Takamiya’s continued struggles are plaguing the team. With her -20,400 during Asakura’s big game giving her her third last in a row, the team slowly bleeds points. In spite of the 1/1/0/2 record and -50.0 loss, the team remains in 2nd place overall.
7th are the Kadokawa Sakura Knights. Most of the losses that the team sustained this week were from uma. When the 4th place was a score of 21,500 and two of the 3rds were above 20,000, it’s difficult to say that it was from bad plays. Even so, the 0/0/3/1 record and -99.6 point loss caused the team to cede 3rd place to the Shibuya Abemas and fall close to the negatives.
Finally, in 8th place in the performance rankings, are the Akasaka Drivens. With everyone except Taro getting 4th, the team continues their downward spiral in their 3rd week of negative results. The 1/0/0/3 result and -102.6 point drop moved them further away from 6th place and closer to 8th.
This Week’s M-League Stats
That’s all for this week! Can the Shibuya Abemas keep striding forward? Can the Akasaka Drivens drop the dropping? Will we have another 100,000+ game? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see!
