Standings
The top team in the weekly performance rankings for the second week in a row is the Sega Sammy Phoenix. Despite Uotani’s chombo, despite the 4th place avoidance streak being broken at 28 games, the Sega Sammy Phoenix are moving forward full steam ahead. With Kayamori’s big baiman win and three firsts this week (two of the firsts being 50,000+), the team ends the week with a gain of +134.7 and a record of 3/0/0/1, making their way up to 2nd place overall.
The second and last positive team in the performance rankings is the U-Next Pirates. The team’s strongest players pulled in big points for the team with two firsts and a 40,000+ 2nd place.Even though Ishibashi got a 4th, the hard-to-read haneman deal-in was mostly unlucky and shouldn’t worry the team too much. The team had a record of 2/1/0/1 and a gain of +89.9 to move from 6th to 5th, as well as closing the gap on the upper half of the league.
Going into the negatives, the Kadokawa Sakura Knights take 3rd place. Sawazaki was strong as always, getting yet another 1st and moves into 2nd in the individual standings. However, Okada’s continued struggles gave her a 4th and cancelled out the 1st. This week, the team edged slightly lower with a -0.8 point loss and an even 1/1/1/1 record.
4th place are the Shibuya Abemas. A lot of 2nds and a single 3rd kept the team at around even. One positive thing for the team is that they kept their losses to a minimum and are still positive in the overall standings. The team lost -1.4 points and had a record of 0/3/1/0 this week, moving down to 6th place but swill being the only team with less than 10 4ths.
The Akasaka Drivens are 5th with their performance this week. Another hard day for Murakami, another hard day for the Akasaka Drivens. Murakami went below -400.0, Maruyama and Sonoda both got 3rds. Taro was able to get a 1st for the team, but they still ended have a net negative result on the week. The team still remains in the negatives, though at least they only have to move one rank up in order to go to the semifinals.
6th is Team Raiden. The 4th week in a row with negative results (if you combine the end-of year special and week 12 results), their 11th in 13 weeks, the team is breaking records (though not the positive kind). The team went below -600.0, their best player, Kurosawa, is in 23rd place and the team has more than twice as many 4ths than 1sts. Their 0/2/1/1 record and -46.8 drop put them at -633.8. It is easier for the 7th place Akasaka Drivens to get to 1st place than for Team Raiden to get to the positives.
The EX Furinkazan take 7th spot. A 5th week in a row with negative results, the once top team is falling further and further down. Only Matsugase has been able to find a 1st, but even he had his struggles this week with a 4th place. With the team’s -87.5 loss and 1/0/1/2 record, the team falls down to 3rd place overall.
Konami Mahjong Fight Club take last place in the performance rankings. After taking top spot, they have begun to fall. Sasaki registered his 6th last of the season and the rest of the team missing 1sts, the team dropped -89.5pts and had a record of 0/1/2/1. Even though the team is still in 1st place, they are losing their comfortable grip on the top spot.
