Standings
For the first time this season, the Kadokawa Sakura Knights take 1st place in the weekly performance rankings. The team had an excellent start to the week, getting 1st twice in a row to go on a three game winning streak and get 1st place overall in the middle of the week. And though Sawazaki struggled in the last game, the team still had an excellent 2/1/0/1 record and a gain of +98.6, their best result since week 7.
Next are the EX Furinkazan. With both of the Nikaido sisters getting a 1st place, the team starts to make their way back to the 1st place glory they had. For now, the team gains +60.7 and gets a record of 2/0/1/1, closing the gap between them and 1st place from 167.0 to 98.5.
The 3rd best performer is the Konami Mahjong Fight Club. TakiHisa beat AkiRumi yet again and Takizawa’s multiple mangan wins brought in most of the points this week. Putting space between them and the cutoff line, the team earned +11.0, had an even record of 1/1/1/1 and now sit in 5th place.
Rounding out the positive teams are the Akasaka Drivens. Taro’s 100th regular season game gave him a win and pushed the team into the positives while the result of the team strugged. With a 1/1/1/1 record and +9.9 gain, the team inches closer to 0.0 and has made it above the cutoff point for the first time since Week 9.
Going into the negatives, the U-Next Pirates are 5th in this week’s performance rankings. It was KobaGo week this week and he was meet with some big struggles. Getting 4th in the first game and just barely escaping 4th by 400 points in the second game, the team fell out of 1st place for a bit. However, with a 1st from Mizuhara in the third game and Mizuhara’s support to help Kobayashi get to 2nd in the fourth game, the team got themselves back to around where they started. With only a -7.8 loss and a 1/1/1/1 record, the ends the week in 1st place.
Team Raiden takes 6th place in the performance rankings. The team had quite a promising start, breaking their 15-game winless streak and got a 2nd shortly after. However, a hard last from Sawazaki and a close 3rd from Honda brought the team back down to the negatives for the 7th week in a row. With the 1/1/1/1 record and -20.3 loss, the team’s total goes down to -885.3.
In 7th are the Shibuya Abemas. An even performance is usually not bad, but a 0/2/2/0 performance tends to be on the negative side. Their 4th place avoidance this week helped them stay near the top, but Matsumoto just missing 1st place in the fourth game was the difference between a positive and negative week. Nevertheless the team is still in the triple digits and is in a good spot to move to the semifinals.
And finally, in 8th place, we have the Sega Sammy Phoenix. Kayamori had a strong comeback in her first game to show everyone that they are a contender. However, it meant that players tried to close the game quickly and not give her another chance during her second game. Combined with negative results from Uotani and Kondo, the team had a 0/1/1/2 record and a loss of -130.5. With the big drop, the Sega Sammy Phoenix drop below the cutoff and move to 7th place.
