M-League 2022-23 Week 4: Chance

Standings

The top-performing team this week is the EX Furinkazan. Rumi logged her second 1st in a row and Katsumata finally gets into the win column, the team is now in the positives. This week, they went 2/1/0/1 and gained +88.9, moving from 7th to 4th.

Next are the Shibuya Abemas. The success continues for the Shibuya Abemas. Four week of positive results. 16 games without a 4th. After just 4 weeks, they have around a +300.0 lead over the next team. This week, they added +54.8 with their 1/2/1/0 record.

The U-Next Pirates take 3rd in the performance rankings. Nakabayashi the newcomer gets his 1st win of his M-League career and Yu wins his second game in a row. Though they still sit in 6th place, they are closer to getting to the positives. Their performance this week gave them +50.7 and a record of 2/0/1/1.

The last positive team this week is the Kadokawa Sakura Knights. Though Shibukawa continues to struggle in his rookie season, Hori and Okada were able to keep the team afloat with back-to-back wins. If Shibukawa finds his groove, then the team will be a force to be reckoned with. They went 2/0/1/1 and gained +46.7 this week.

Heading into the negatives, the Konami Mahjong Fight Club are 5th in the performance rankings. Hisato was able to get a 1st for the team, but some 3rds and a 4th brought the team’s score down a bit. Still, the team is 3rd and 4th in the individual standings and the team sits in 2nd place overall. They went 1/0/2/1 this week with a loss of -20.8.

Team Raiden is 6th in the performance rankings. The team avoided 4th, but also avoided 1st. But though they dropped from 4th to 5th, they are still one good week away from get back to the positives. They went 0/2/2/0 and lost -32.1 this week.

In 7th are the Sega Sammy Phoenix. Two South 4’s ended against their favour and caused some point losses. Unfortunately, their 0/2/0/2 record and -83.4 loss only brought them team deeper into 7th place. They will have to work hard to rise from the ashes.

And in 8th place are the Akasaka Drivens. For the 4th week in a row, the Akasaka Drivens have lost points. 15 games without a 1st. Though, if we were to look on the positive side, Maruyama played extremely well and only lost in the last hand of the game. If the whole team can take inspiration and play like that, the may see their score move in the positive direction. This week, the team went -104.8 with a record of 0/1/1/2.
