Standings
EX Furinkazan. For the 6th week in a row, the team has gained points. This week’s charge was headed by Katsumata and Matsugase, with Katsumata getting his 2nd and 3rd win in a row. With their 3/0/0/1 result and +150.6 gain, they are now 2nd in the standings and could potentially dethrone the Shibuya Abemas with a good week next week.
Next is the Shibuya Abemas. After their stumble last week, the Abemas went back to their winning ways. The team started out with a slow but steady gain at the start of the week, getting two 2nds. At the end of the week, it looked as if Matsumoto would bring the team another 2nd. However, a clutch South 4 tsumo gave him the win and ensured the team would stay above +400.0. This week, the team went 1/2/1/0 with a gain of +50.9.
Kadokawa Sakura Knights. After three straight weeks of negative results, the Kadokawa Sakura Knights look like they are starting to reverse course. Hori and Okada were able to get 2nds in their game. With a bit of luck, Uchikawa avoided 4th by tying 3rd place. Shibukawa, who had been struggling a lot this season, had a strong performance and got himself a 1st. With a +47.3 gain and a 1/2/1/0 record, the team rose a small amount, going from 7th to 6th place.
4th are the Sega Sammy Phoenix. Riomin (Tojo Rio and Uotani Yuumi) was the powerhouse for the team, with both players finishing their games above 40,000. Though Tojo only got 2nd in her game, she brought her team very important points and ensured that the team was positive this week. This week, the team went 1/1/2/0 with a gain of +22.3.
The last positive team this week is the U-Next Pirates. They only got small scores this week, but they were very mindful of placement. Even though Mizuhara only had 32,400 at the end of her game, her awareness of the scores allowed her to retain 1st place. They kept conservative and were satisfied with small gains instead of trying to get greedy. This week, they went 1/1/2/0 with a gain of +18.5, maintaining their 5th place position.
Going into the negatives, Team Raiden is 6th in the performance rankings. With a lucky penchan, Honda registered a 1st. With an unluck South 4, Setokuma lost his 1st place. With both good and bad results, the team had an even week of 1/1/1/1 with a score of -13.6. Even with so many teams trying to overtake them, they were able to sta ve them off and keep their 4th place position.
Konami Mahjong Fight Club sit 7th in the performance rankings. Facing against the EX Furinkazan in all four of their games, they just weren’t able to overcome the powerhouse. Even when Takamiya was close to winning the game, Katsumata had a comeback in South 4 to take it away from her. Though they went -79.9 this week with a record of 0/1/2/1, the team still is in the positives and are in 3rd place overall.
And finally, last in the rankings, is the Akasaka Drivens. After such a big week last week, the team lost almost all of it. Four straight 4ths. For the team, they hope that this is just a bad week and they can get back to winning next week. With the 0/0/0/4 record and -196.1 loss, the team drops back down to 8th.
