Standings
The top-performing team for the first 6 games of the semifinals is the Kadokawa Sakura Knights. If avoiding deal-ins is the name of the game, then the Kadokawa Sakura Knights are the masters. Over their four games, they won 12 hands only dealt in once. Their top result came from Okada, who won 5 hands and finished with more than 50,000. With their gains this week, they get closer to 3rd place.
Next is Team Raiden. Kurosawa was definitely the hero for the team. In the first game she played, she got an ippatsu win and three ura later on to win with over 60,000. In her second game, even after she dealt into a dealer haneman, she didn’t stop and ended up finishing second in that game. With their gains, they are now into the positives and getting closer to 3rd place.
3rd in the performance rankings is the 3rd place Shibuya Abemas. Though Ooi continues to struggle a bit in the post-season, the rest of the team was able to come in strong. In particular, Shiratori, who comparatively struggled in the regular season, was able to set up a strong trap and won a haneman as a result. Though some of the other teams are hot on their tail, they are getting a little closer to 2nd place.
Konami Mahjong Fight Club are the last gaining team during the past six games. With great draws and great waits, the team got good results to extend their lead even further. Their biggest highlight came from Hisato when he won a dealer haneman in the very first hand of the semifinals and another haneman later on to finish with a big 1st place. If the team continues this trend, they will be hard to beat in the finals.
Going into the negatives, the EX Furinkazan are next in the performance rankings. They had a hard week this week. None of Rumi’s riichi calls could convert and Matsugase dealt into the haitei in the last hand. Though they are still 2nd, the other teams are catching up and the Konami Mahjong Fight Club is surging ahead. If they want to prevent any tragedies, they need to get back in the win column.
And finally, coming last in the performance rankings, we have the U-Next Pirates. Luck was just not on their side. Multiple times when they tenpai or in riichi, they ended up dealing into something big or someone else wins by tsumo. Though the results are bad, their gameplay still seems solid. With a bit of chance and some direct hits, they may be able to make it up to 5th or maybe even 4th by the middle of next week.

And with that, the first six games of the semifinals are finished! In three weeks, the semifinals will be over. Can Konami hold onto their top position? Will the U-Next Pirates get their comeback? Will we have even more dora madness and headbump hits? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see!
