In E3-0, Takamiya is the dealer, tied for 2nd place and 11,000 behind 1st place Hinata. With a dealer mangan or better, Takamiya will move into 1st place.
Takamiya starts out the hand with a distant chiitoi 4-shanten (5-shanten for a standard hand), but she does have a 3m dora, a red 5m and pairs of green dragon and north. From the start, Takamiya discards her pinzu and souzu to go for a manzu honitsu. On turn 3, Takamiya calls pon on the green dragon to advance. Near the end of the first row, Takamiya pairs up the souths to get to iishanten. In the second row, Takamiya draws another 3m, calls pon on the souths and gets to tenpai on a 4m kanchan for haneman minimum. after a few draws, Takamiya draws the green dragon and calls kan, making the 2p the new dora for everyone.

A few turns later, Rumi gets to tenpai and calls riichi on a 1s/4s shanpon with a guaranteed sanshoku.

In the third row, Setokuma calls chii on the red 5p and gets to a furiten tenpai on a 147s wait (with the 47s being the only tiles to give a yaku).

In the middle of the third row, Rumi ends up drawing the 4m and deals into Takamiya. Takamiya wins the hand with Honitsu/Green Dragon/Dora 2/Aka 1 for 18,000 plus one riichi stick.

In E4-0, Setokuma is the dealer in 3rd place and trying to recover the points he lost in the first hand.
Setokuma starts out with a huge hand as dealer, sitting 2-shanten with two completed sequences and an ankou of 8m. On turn 3, Setokuma draws the red 5p and gets to iishanten. As Setokuma waits to get to tenpai with his big hand, Takamiya makes a chii and gets to tenpai on an east/5s shanpon (with only the east giving a yaku).

Right after, Setokuma gets to tenpai and waits dama on a 7s tanki. After that, Setokuma draws a north and calls riichi on a north tanki.

While he does this, Takamiya has to reorganize her hand. Drawing the 5s a few turns ago, she completed her hand but without a yaku. After a some turns of fiddling, she gets a 36s/east wait. With the east, she can win off anyone. With the 3s, she can only win by drawing it. With the 6s, she will have no yaku.

Though Takamiya’s wait seems to have a bit of promise, she ends up folding when she draws the dora-adjacent 9m. In the third row, Rumi discards the north and deals into Setokuma. Flipping one uradora, Setokuma wins the hand with Riichi/Dora 3/Aka 1/Ura 1 for 18,000.
Out of the Negatives

May 15, Game 1, S3-0
In S3-0, Rumi is in 4th place with -7,500. Though there is little hope of escaping 4th, escaping the negatives would be a nice consolation.
Rumi starts out the hand 3-shanten with three ryanmens in hand. Rumi had no trouble completing them and got to iishanten on turn 4 with a chance at a 234 sanshoku. As she waits. Takamiya gets to tenpai and calls riichi on a wide 147s.

On Rumi’s turn, she gets to tenpai and calls riichi on a 3m kanchan with mangan minimum. Two turns later, Takamiya draws and discards the 3m and deals into Rumi. Rumi wins the Riichi/Tanyao/Sanshoku/Ura 1 for 8,000 plus one riichi stick, getting her out of the negatives.

Standings

Even after dealing into a haneman in the very first hand, Setokuma managed to come back and take 1st place. This win is big, cutting the Abemas lead in half and getting the team within a 1st place of 1st place. Unfortunately for the EX Furinkazan, the 4th marks the team’s fourth 4th in as many games.
