Awards Ceremony
After the games were done, online viewers were treated to some previews of the M-League original documentaries while players were driven from the studio to the Bellesalle Roppongi.

We were first introduced to the MC for the night, Matsushima Momo (one of the regular M-League commentators). Then we move onto the individual awards. The presenter of the awards was none other than M-League chairman Fujita Susumu.

First, they awarded the 4th Place Avoidance Award, the award given to the player with the best 4th place avoidance rate in the regular season. In reverse order, they named the top three:

When Katsumata’s name was called, he walked down the aisle and stepped onto the stage. The M-League Chairman went onto the stage and put the medal around Katsumata’s neck. After a few photos, Katumata gave a short speech.

The next award was the Highest Hanchan Score Award, awarded to the player who had the highest score in a single hanchan.

With Kurosawa’s record-setting score, she came up onto the stage and was awarded her medal. After both Fujita chairman and Kurosawa did the famous Team Raiden pose, she gave her speech and said she was happy getting the award and for the team getting 3rd place overall.

Finally, we have the MVP Award, the award given to the player that had the highest total score in the season.

Date stepped onto the stage and was awarded a medal that looked just like the M-League championship plate. In her speech, Date said that she did make some mistakes during the season and will seek to improve her game.
Final Standings
After the individual awards were given, each of the teams, in reverse order, came up onto the stage and one player gave a speech for the team.

In 8th place, with a score of -574.4pts during the regular season, are the Sega Sammy Phoenix. Team captain Uotani congratulated the Shibuya Abemas and said that they will channel the frustration they felt this season to try their best next season.

In 7th place, with a score of -514.3pts during the regular season, are the Akasaka Drivens. Team captain Sonoda told the fans that there is some uncertainty with the team being forced to changed their roster, but tells the fans that their style will not change and hopes that they will continue supporting them.

In 6th place, with a score of -41.5pts during the regular season and -376.0pts in the semifinals, are the Kadokawa Sakura Knights. Uchikawa told the audience that they were going for a second championship, but they were unable and will try again next year. He also told every that today was Shibukawa’s birthday and the audience greeted him happy birthday.

In 5th place, with a score of -61.3pts during the regular season and +16.9pts in the semifinals, are the U-Next Pirates. Captain Kobayashi congratulated the Shibuya Abemas and told everyone that they tried to win a lot and ended up 5th. He said that the team will fight hard next year.

In 4th place, with a score of +586.1pts during the regular season, +290.4pts in the semifinals and -150.4pts in the finals, are the EX Furinkazan. Captain Aki thanked everyone who made M-League possible and said that they were able to make it this far with the work that they did in the off-season and will use this experience to help them in the future.

In 3rd place and winning a 10 million yen prize, with a score of -42.4pts during the regular season, +173.8pts in the semifinals and -97.8pts in the finals, is Team Raiden. Caught off guard, Honda was asked to give the speech for the team. After a few humourous moments, Honda said that it’s a bit frustrating to not win, but it’s better than last season.

In 2nd place and winning a 20 million yen prize, with a score of +592.2pts during the regular season, +172.8pts in the semifinals and +204.6pts in the finals, is the Konami Mahjong Fight Club. Not wanting to be outdone by Honda, Takamiya was the speech giver for the team. She told every that they were happy with the result but were still frustrated. She told everyone that the team will aim to win the trophy next season.

One final team remained. As the team emerged from shadows, The Shibuya Abemas walked down the aisle greeted with congratulations from both sides. The Shibuya Abemas finished the season in 1st place and the M-League 2022-23 Champions. They finished with a score of 55.6pts in the regular season, +266.6pts in the semifinals and +495.4pts in the finals.
With the team on the stage, Fujita-chairman (who also happened to be the team’s coach) carried the plate to the stage, raised the plate and handed it off to team captain Ooi.
Confetti was released onto the stage as Fujita-chairman and Ooi held the plate, posing for the picture.
Afterwards, the team was presented with their 50 million yen cheque for winning the season.
After the photoshoot, each player got to say a short speech. All of the players thank people who supported them along the way, from family to teammates to fans.

After all four of them were done, the Fujita-chairman gave one more speech. He thanked the teams, players, sponsors and fans and officially closed the M-League 2022-23 Season.

With one more drop of confetti, the camera zoomed out, the credits ran and the last broadcast of the M-league 2022-23 Season was over.
