M-League 2023-24 Week 2: Gifts

Standings

The Konami Mahjong Fight Club continues its rise week. Team captain Hisato made his season debut this week and did not disappoint, winning both his games this week. With their six games so far this season, they have placed 1st or 2nd in all but one of them.

Team Raiden and the Akasaka Drivens were our two other big gainers this week. Both teams got two wins this week and now sit 2nd and 4th, respectively. The Akasaka Drivens, in particular, has impressed the most, moving up 5 places in just four games.

The U-Next Pirates, the Beast Japanext and Kadokawa Sakura Knights all sit around even from where they started the week. The Pirates had an even 1/1/1/1 record, the Beast newcomers placed in the middle ranks and the Kadokawa Sakura Knights had both the highest and lowest score of the week. All three sit within a stone’s throw of ±0.0.

At the bottom are the Sega Sammy Phoenix, EX Furinkazan and Shibuya Abemas. All three continue to fall this week, with no 1sts for any of them. Both the Shibuya Abemas and EX Furinkazan had two 4ths this week and lost -80.0pts.

And that’s all that happened this week! All but one player has played their first game in the league and rivalries are starting to heat up. Can any team stop the Konami Mahjong Fight Club? Can the Shibuya Abemas stop their slump? Will we finally see Ooi Takaharu? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see!
