The Kadokawa Sakura Knights, Shibuya Abemas, U-Next Pirates and Team Raiden all had triple-digit gains this week. The Kadokawa Sakura Knights had a 1st and three 40,000+ 2nd places, while the other three teams had two 1sts. The Abemas and Sakura Knights tied as the top gainer with +141.3pts, the U-Next Pirates gained +134.2pts in just two gains and Team Raiden moves into the positives with a +130.2pts gain.
The last gain of the week are the Akasaka Drivens. It was an even 1/1/1/1 record for the team this week, but a 48,200 second place by Asami gave the team a net positive result. Just through the very small gain, the team moves up in the rankings, now sitting in 6th place.
Beast Japanext and EX Furinkazan both had double-digit losses. The Beast only played two games this week, with both games being 3rd places. For the EX Furinkazan, they had a 0/2/1/1 record and a -77.7pts loss, with Rumi’s baiman deal-in with the very last south bearing much of the blame. That drop for the EX Furinkazan causes them to go from 5th to 7th place.
The Konami Mahjong Fight Club are in the penultimate place in this week’s performance rankings. A lot of the progress that they had made last week has been erased and then some. Date’s winning streak stops at 4 after a 4th place, Takamiya suffered a -10,600 4th and the TakiHisa duo had back-to-back 3rds. Their hold on 1st place is starting to get weaker, with only 37.5pts separating them and the 2nd place Shibuya Abemas.
And finally, we have the Sega Sammy Phoenix. Four 4ths in a row this week, five in their past five games. Neither Kayamori nor Tojo had any good luck. Dealing in while in riichi, bleeding from tsumo payments and someone stopping them whenever they had something good. With a -268.9pts drop, the team now has a total of -393.2pts. A spooky Halloween season indeed.
And that’s all for this week! We are now into November. For North American viewers observing Daylight Saving Time, the clocks will be falling back on November 5, making the broadcast start an hour for you. Can even more teams return to the positives? Will the Sega Sammy Phoenix stop the fall? Will we have another chance at a suuankou tanki? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see!
