Standings
The top gainer this week is the Kadokawa Sakura Knights. Only positive results allowed this week. On Monday, both Okada and Shibukawa had 30,000+ results and came out with a total for +81.1 at the end of the day. On Friday, Hori did double duty and got back-to-back 1sts, his fourth in his M-League career and the first one in almost a year (Hori actually has M-League’s 4 most recent back-to-back 1sts). After the four games, the Kadokawa went up by +192.6pts and flew all the way up from 6th to 2nd.
The EX Furinkazan and Akasaka Drivens are not far behind in this week’s performance rankings, both getting triple-digit gains. It was RumiAki week for the EX Furinkazan and Rumi was the star with two firsts this week and breaking the top 3 in the individual standings. For the Akasaka Drivens, Tuesday was a day of joy as Asami got a 1st place, followed by Taro getting his first win in almost a year. Both teams went up significantly in the standings, with the Akasaka Drivens going from 7th to 5th and the EX Furinkazan going from 4th to 1st.
Having double-digit losses this week are the U-Next Pirates, Shibuya Abemas, Konami Mahjong Fight Club and Team Raiden. None of the teams were able to get a 1st place this week, so 2nd place gains were their only hope of gaining. The U-Next Pirates had a 0/2/2/0 record for the smallest drop, the Shibuya Abemas’ Hinata Aiko had big 2nd places to reduce the impact of the team’s two 4ths and the other two teams limited themselves to just one 4th. With the negative results, all four teams dropped, with the biggest falls being Team Raiden (3rd -> 7th) and Konami Mahjong Fight Club (1st -> 4th)
At the bottom of the standings and the performance rankings are the Beast Japanext and Sega Sammy Phoenix. On Thursday, Sarukawa had the Beast’s worst ever result with a -27,400 final score, With a 3rd by Nakada and Sugawara’s 1st place being outweighed by her own 4th place, they ended up with a -118.3pts drop to go below -500.0pts. For the Sega Sammy Phoenix, back-to-back 4ths for their only two games dropped them close to -600.0pts With more than a third of the season gone, the teams need to starting making their way up if they want to qualify for the playoffs.
And that’s all for this week! Thanks for reading! By the end of next week, we will be in the last month of the calendar year. Which team will be at the top of the standings by the end of next week? Can the Beast and Phoenix climb out of the hole? Will someone finally win a yakuman? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see!

Worth noting that Shibukawa’s win was much more meaningful considering his great loss of -47,600 points to Saki about a year ago. In a way, it was a revenge match.
