The Kadokawa Sakura Knights are the top performers this week. It was a good week for the Kadokawa Sakura Knights. On Monday during the team’s RED°TOKYO TOWER public viewing, Uchikawa made quite the spectacle and got 1st place in both the games. Avoiding 4th place on Thursday, they ended up with +99.0pts and now sit at the top of the standings.
Team Raiden, Sega Sammy Phoenix and U-Next Pirates all had double-digit gains this week. For the both the U-Next Pirates (who got a 1st/2nd on their public viewing day) and Sega Sammy Phoenix, this is their fourth week in a row of gains. For Team Raiden, Hagiwara got his fourth win of the season and is now positive and the team moves up to 6th place.
Staying around the same score as last week are the Konami Mahjong Fight Club and Beast Japanext. The Konami Mahjong Fight Club had an even 2nd/3rd on their only game day this week to edge out just positive. The Beast Japanext had a 1/1/0/2 record to be just negative, but Daisuke managed to get a big 84,400 win to lead the league for best hanchan score.
The Akasaka Drivens and EX Furinkazan both had double-digit losses this week. Sonoda had a rought week with two losses, but Futoshi had a great win to put him 4th in the overall standings. The EX Furinkazan had an even record, but Rumi unfortunately had a big -20,700 loss. On the bright side, Katsumata won yet another game and he sits 2nd overall in the individual standings.
And finally, coming last in this week’s performance rankings, we have the Shibuya Abemas. The team had all players contributing, but not one of them were able to get a 1st. In a rare event, Ooi fell into the negatives and lost his second game of the season. With these losses, the team not sits below the cutoff and is currently in 7th place.
And that’s all for this week! Next week will only have games on Monday and Tuesday, then the week after that will have games on Thursday and Friday. Which team will get a big Christmas present? Who will be the unintentional gift-giver? What will the new year bring? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see!
