The team with the largest gain this week is the Konami Mahjong Fight Club. After getting two 3rds on Tuesday, tried to improve on Thursday by sporting stylish new accessories. With the power of Takamiya’s ribbon and Date’s glasses, the team was able to get back-to-back 1sts, winning 8 hands between them and not dealing in once.
The Kadokawa Sakura Knights and U-Next Pirates both hand double-digit gains. On Tuesday, back-to-back wins by the team got them close to +400.0pts and they briefly went above on Thursday. Though they got a 4th place afterwards, they still made the Pirates’ lead smaller. As for the U-Next Pirates, this is their seventh week in a row that they have gained points. For a brief moment, they peeked above +500.0pts.
Coming in with a small +3.0pts gain is the EX Furinkazan. The highlight of the week came from Aki, who got her first win since November 13, 2023.
The Shibuya Abemas, Sega Sammy Phoenix, Beast Japanext and Akasaka Drivens all had double-digit losses. The Akasaka Drivens are currently on a 6-game 3rd place streak, so unfortunate that it’s impressive. The Shibuya Abemas briefly dipped below 0.0pts until Hinata played the team’s best game of the season. As for the Sega Sammy Phoenix and Beast Japanext, these two bottom teams are still unable to gain positive momentum, neither of them getting a 1st place this week.
Finally, coming in last in the performance rankings, we have Team Raiden. After back-to-back 4ths on Tuesday, the team slipped further and further, deeper into 7th place. There was some hope on Thursday with Hagiwara getting close, but he was just unable to get to 1st place. The team now sits 257.5pts away from a playoff spot. With only ten weeks left to go, they need to start roaring back like thunder.
And that’s all for this week. Only ten more weeks before the end of the regular season! Can the Konami Mahjong Fight Club continue their climb and crack the top 3? Will Team Raiden return to a playoff spot? Will we get a proper chiihou in an M-League game? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see!
