Standings
The top-performing team this week is the EX Furinkazan. The team is continuing their ascension from their low two weeks ago. Much of the work was done by Katsumata (who got his third win of the season) and Aki (who won just under half of the hands in her game and got her first 1st of the season). Their +95.8pts gain and 2/1/1/0 record this week moved them from 8th to 7th, the only team to move up in the standings this week.
The Sega Sammy Phoenix, Akasaka Drivens and U-Next Pirates all had positive gains this week. Though Genta’s rentai (1st + 2nd) streak finished with a 3rd place, Daigo was able to get the Sega Sammy Phoenix’s best score so far this season with a 53,000 win. The Akasaka Drivens break the +200.0pts mark thanks to a tight 1st place by Futoshi, his third win of the season. For the Pirates, Yu’s 1st place was his first of the season, helped lift the team up and stopped Hori from matching his record of five 1sts in a row.
Losing points this week are Team Raiden, Konami Mahjong FIght Club, Shibuya Abemas and Kadokawa Sakura Knights. Team Raiden took the middle ranks all this week, with their 3rds outweighing their 1sts. The Konami Mahjong Fight Club had a streak of 2nds until the last game where Takizawa couldn’t win a single hand. Though, Hisato is the highlight of the week for the team with his 75th hand this season without dealing in (90 hands if you extend it to last season’s regular season). The Abemas had a strong start with Hinata getting a 1st, but the boys couldn’t get a single positive and dropped the team below -300.0pts. And for the Sakura Knights, the double 4th on Tuesday hurt them a lot, but Shibukawa was able to make a small recovery on Friday with his first win of the season.
FInally, we have the Beast X. The Beast sent out Sarukawa and Daisuke for both Monday and Thursday’s games. While Sarukawa’s 1st place helped cushion the blow of a 4th place, Daisuke ended up getting 4th place twice and dropped him back into the negatives. With the team’s 1/0/0/3 record and -85.7pts drop, the team moves down to 8th place as the only team to move down in the standings this week.
And that’s all for this week! As a reminder to our European fans, Daylight Savings Time ends this Sunday, so M-League will start an hour earlier for regions that observe it.
By the end of next week, we will be in November. How will the next month turn out? Can the EX Furinkazan keep fight? Can the Beast bounce back? Will Ooi go into hibernation? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see!
