M-League 2024-25 Week 10: Precision

Standings

For the second week in a row, the Akasaka Drivens are the top-performing team of the week. The good luck and hard work continues to pay off for the Akasaka Drivens. The team started the week well with another big win by Taro. On Thursday, Asami came through during her last dealership and during the final hand of the game to go from 4th place all the way to the top, helping the team break the +500.0pts mark. With a win by Futoshi to give the team a daily double, the team finishes the week with a 3/0/1/0 record and a gain of +167.4pts. Over the past two weeks they have gained a total of +308.2pts.

The EX Furinkazan, Konami Mahjong Fight Club and U-Next Pirates all had gains this week. The EX Furinkazan had a 1st and three 2nds to gain ground in every game they played. Both Takizawa and Takamiya got 1sts this week for Konami to move them back above the U-Next Pirates and into 3rd place. For the U-Next Pirates, they ended up on the losing end of both 1st place battles on Friday, but they managed to eke out a small +2.8pts gain.

Posting losses this week are the Sega Sammy Phoenix, Team Raiden, Kadokawa Sakura Knights and Shibuya Abemas. Playing only two games this week, the Phoenix had an uncharacteristic loss this week with a 3rd place by Genta followed by a 2nd by Kayamori. Team Raiden had an even record this week, but Hagiwara’s 2nd place ended up negative against a tough Katsumata. The Kadokawa Sakura Knights had Okada still unable to find a 1st and ending up negative, while Hori on Friday ended ihs game with only 200. And with the Shibuya Abemas, the team wasn’t able to get a 1st this week and both Ooi and Shiratori ended up in 4th.

Finally, the Beast X had the biggest drop of the week, the second week in a row. The struggle just continues for the Beast, falling down below -600.0pts. In each of their games, they ended up losing points. Though they didn’t lose greatly in their two 4ths, the uma penalty hurts them a lot. Sitting in 26th overall, Sugawara has the team’s best score with -93.3pts. The team has gained points in only two games this month and they haven’t had a 1st place since October 21, over a month ago.

And that’s all for this week! We are officially into the 2nd third of the season and just one more week of games before we hit December. Will the Akasaka Drivens continue to break positive barriers. Will the Beast X find 1st place again? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see!
