Standings
The top-performing team this week is the Konami Mahjong Fight Club. This is the first time the team has been the top performer since the very first week of the season.
Shibuya Abemas, U-Next Pirates, EX Furinkazan and Kadokawa Sakura Knights. Shiratori was the start of the Shibuya Abemas’ success, getting two 1sts to get 5 wins in a row and pushing the team a bit closer to the borderline. Despite Yu getting his first 4th place on Thursday, the big daily double by Mizuhara and Nakabayashi lifted the team closer to 2nd place. The EX Furinkazan had Rumi doing double duty on Friday and she raked in the points with a 2nd and a 1st place. And for the Kadokawa Sakura Knights, A 1st and two 2nds helped cancel out a painful 4th place by Okada.
Akasaka Drivens, Team Raiden and Sega Sammy Phoenix all dropped this week. Playing in only two games this week, the Akasaka Drivens had a 2nd and a negative 4th to push them back below +700.0pts. Team Raiden couldn’t get 1st place and the team dropped below 0.0pts this week. For the Sega Sammy Phoenix, Genta got his first 4th place of the season in one of their two games this week, with Daigo only getting a 3rd to push them further away from the top.
Finally, we have the Beast X as the worst performers for the third week in a row. Three of their four games were 4ths and the one game that wasn’t was a 3rd. With the -168.0pts drop, the team is now just a game away from falling below -1000.0pts. The team needs to come up with a new strategy this new year if they want to make the playoffs.
And that’s all for this week and for 2024! M-League will be off next week, but we will return on January 6.
It’s been quite a year for M-League and there’s still so much more action in the coming year. What new opportunities are in store in the new year? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see! See you in 2025!
