Kadokawa Sakura Knights. After Shibukawa got a 3rd plce on Tuesday, Hori took over the rest of the week. In Hori’s first game, a mangan in the last hand pushed him into 1st place by 200. In his second game, a big baiman in the final hand defied the odds and gave him the top spot. And in the third game, a solid performance gave him a positive 2nd place. With the team’s +121.3pts gain, the get closer and closer to 6th place goal.
Team Raiden, Shibuya Abemas, EX Furinkazan and Beast X all gained this week as well. Though Team Raiden failed to get to +100.0pts again this week, two 1sts this week gave them a good +75.5pts gain and moves them up to 4th place. The Shibuya Abemas remain in 6th place and extends their lead after Shiratori got his 11th 1st place and Ooi got his first 1st since November. The EX Furinkazan rises after their own two 1sts, but the Shibuya Abemas are putting up a big fight. And for the Beast X, two 2nds gave brought them back above -1000.0pts again.
The Akasaka Drivens, U-Next Pirates and Konami Mahjong Fight Club all dropped. A 2nd and a 4th by the Akasaka Drivens, put them a bit further away from +1000.0pts, but they are still within a good 1st away from the mark. The U-Next Pirates failed to get a 1st, but their reduced dropped actually pushed them up to 2nd place overall. And for the Konami Mahjong Fight Club, a triple-digit loss this week, pushes them down to 5th place and puts them into the negatives.
FInally, we have the Sega Sammy Phoenix. This was the team’s worst week so far this season. With 4ths by Genta, Takaki and Kayamori, the team drops by -148.4pts. It’s especially frustrating for Takaki, who gets his fourth 4th in a row. WIth the drop, the team goes down to 3rd place overall, but they still remain solidly in a playoff spot and Genta still remains at the top of the individual standings.

Can the Sega Sammy Phoenix stop the slide and reclaim their spot again? How long will the Drivens linger the in the +900.0s? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see!
