Standings
The top team this week is the Sega Sammy Phoenix. It was a big week for the team, having two games of +100.0pts. On Tuesday, Kayamori won three limit hands during her dealership and got to 74,000 before the end of the East 2. By the end of the game, she had 85,700, the third-highest game of the season. On Thursday, Daigo beat it with an 88,800 win, taking 2nd place in the hanchan standings. By the end of the week, the team gained +150.9pts and moved back up to 2nd place overall.
Interestingly, only two other teams gained points this week: the Beast X and the Akasaka Drivens. After a rough Monday, the Beast made a comeback with a daily double, including Nakada getting her first 1st place since September. For the Akasaka Drivens, they had three 2nds to slowly make some small gains.
The EX Furinkazan, Shibuya Abemas, U-Next Pirates, Konami Mahjong Fight Club and Kadokawa Sakura Knights all had modest losses. The team only had two games this week and Katsumata ended up negative to cancel out Aki’s 1st place. Though Matsumoto started off the week with his first 1st of the season, three 3rds ended up pushing the team down. The U-Next Pirates had 4ths by Yu and Mizuhara to drop the team down to 3rd overall. The Konami Mahjong Fight Club had a 1st/4th week, but Takizawa ended up with a big -32,900 4th place pushed the team from the top 3. And for the Kadokawa Sakura Knights, their three 2nds of the week were cancelled by Shibukawa getting a 4th to end the week.
Finally, we have Team Raiden. The team ended up getting with three 3rds and a 4th, failing to make gains in any of their games. With their results, the team goes down to 5th place and -93.0pts, their lowest point so far this season.
And that’s all for this week! Five more weeks to go in the regular season! With the results this week, the top three MVP players are separated by 28.7pts. Who will take the MVP title? Can someone break Daisuke’s 91,300 hanchan record? Will Hinata maintain her perfect 4thless record? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see!
