Standings
For the second week in a row, the EX Furinkazan are the biggest weekly gainer. On Tuesday, they had a big day with another daily double by Uchikawa and Nagai (the first being on September 19). Avoiding 4th place on Thursday, the team is going 10 games without a 4th place. They sit in a comfortable position in 1st place, with their next rival being 244.0pts away.
The Shibuya Abemas, Sega Sammy Phoenix, Akasaka Drivens and Beast X all make gains as well. The Shibuya Abemas was the best performer at the table for both of their games, getting a 1st and a 3rd for each of them and moving up from 9th to 6th. The Phoenix also had a 1st place in each of their three days playing, but they still remain quite volatile with two additional 4ths. The Drivens avoided 4th place this week and close the gap on 2nd and 3rd. And the highlight for the Beast is Tojo’s first 1st place in her new uniform and her first 1st place since February 22, 2024.
Dropping points are Team Raiden, Earth Jets, U-Next Pirates and Konami Mahjong Fight Club. Despite being the best performer on Monday, they failed to get a 1st place on Thursday or Friday (though they did manage to rise up to 2nd overall with the Pirates falling). The Jets also failed to get a 1st place and moved down to 4th. The U-Next Pirates break their 4th avoidance streak with two bankrupt 4ths, slipping to 3rd overall. And the Konami Mahjong Fight Club still look for their first 1st this season. They had hope on Friday, but a bit of recklessness from Date caused her to lose her big lead and finish 2nd. The team overall drops down to 10th, right at the bottom of the rankings.
Finally, we have the Kadokawa Sakura Knights. A 2nd, a 3rd and two 4ths this week, including newcomer Akutsu getting his first 4th. Having started the week in the positives, they are now in the negatives in 7th place.
And that’s all for this week! We are now into October and rivalries and goals are now taking shape. Can anybody catch up to the red-hot EX Furinkazan?
