M-League 2025-26 Week 4: Beginnings and Endings

Standings

The Konami Mahjong Fight Club is the top gainer of the week. It was a huge week for the Konami Mahjong Fight Club. Having gone the first three weeks without a single 1st place, they end this week with three 1sts and a 2nd place. On Monday, it was a very narrow 1st place by Takizawa followed by an uncontested 53,800 1st place by Takamiya for the daily double. With the 1st place by Hisato and the 2nd place by Date, the team goes from dead last to being in 6th place and in the positives. It goes to show you what can happen in a single week of M-League action.

Coming in a close second in terms of weekly performance is the Kadokawa Sakura Knights. Six games and an equal split of 1sts, 2nds and 3rds. Both of their 1sts were big, with Shibukawa getting 56,100 on Monday and Hori getting 65,500 on Friday. Importantly, they avoided 4th and made sure they didn’t get any big losses. As a result, they wre able to rise up from 7th place and in the negatives to 5th place and in the positives.

Team Raiden and the U-Next Pirates also end the week with some gains. Team Raiden got two 1sts and two 4ths this week, eking out a small gain. For the U-Next Pirates. It was quite an interesting week. Though they incurred losses in 3 of their 4 games, the one game they got positive was a big one. With Yu going on a rampage, he manage to get a huge 86,000 win. With his previous game being a 91,500 1st place, he has gained 217.5pts in just two games, pushing him up to 1st place overall in the individual standings.

Dropping a bit are the Sega Sammy Phoenix, Akasaka Drivens, Shibuya Abemas and Beast X. The Phoenix actually managed to gain points in three of their games, but the continuing unluckiness of Kayamori handed her a -10,600 loss to make the team net negative on the week. The Akasaka Drivens’ four 3rds cancelled out the 1st and 2nd on Thursday, dropping them by -19.8pts. The Shibuya Abemas were unable to get 1st place, having three 2nds and a 4th to move them from 6th to 8th. And for the Beast X, a 1st and 4th mostly cancelled out, leaving the two 3rds as the bulk of their losses this week.

Coming in with triple-digit losses is the Earth Jets. It was the opposite of the Kadokawa Sakura Knights, with the team’s six games being split between 2nds, 3rds and 4ths. Notably, both Shibata and Miura got a 4th place, placing them 38th and 40th, respectively, in the individual standings. The team’s results drop them from 8th place to the very bottom of the standings at 10th place.

Finally, we have the EX Furinkazan. It seems like the EX Furinkazan momentum has dropped off. The powerhouse team is staring to falter. It went well at the start with a 1st place by Katsumata, but four 4ths in a row soon followed, one by each player on the team. With their -188.7pts drop this week, their 314.2pts lead after the first game Monday is now just a 13.1pts lead. They will have to return to their winning ways if they want to maintain their spot at the top of the standings.

And that’s all for this week! The standings are getting tighter now, leading to some more intense games in the future. Can the EX Furinkazan keep their spot on top, or will another team become the new leader? Can the Konami Mahjong Fight Club continue their amazing momentum? How many more double riichi and haitei wins will we get? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see!
