Standings
The top gainer for the second week in a row is the Beast X. They played in six game sna dwon half of them. In the other half, they avoided 4th place. The MVP of the week for the team is Tojo, who got two of those 1sts and has risen from the negatives to 7th in the indvidiual standings. After being in the negatives and 8th place just two weeks ago, the team is now in the positives and all the way up in 3rd place.
The EX Furinkazan are in a close second. It was a long week for Nagai, playing in all four of the team’s games. Three games in a row, Nagai managed to get 1st place. And though he ended up getting a 4th place in that fourth game, the team is 1st in the team standings and Nagai is 1st place in the individual standings.
The Shibuya Abemas, Earth Jets and Konami Mahjong Fight Club also had gains this week. With a 2/1/1/0 record and a +121.3pts gain, the team moves into the positives and is up from 8th to 5th. The Earth Jets had a 2/1/2/1 record (including Hiro getting the team’s best game with his 80,200 win) pushes them a bit closer to the positives and further from the bottom. The Konami Mahjong Fight Club avoided 4th place in their four games, including a 1st place by Takamiya to put her 6th in the individual standings.
Having losses this week are the Kadokawa Sakura Knights, Team Raiden, Sega Sammy Phoenix and Akasaka Drivens. A 2nd and three 3rds means a drop of -57.4pts, but they still maintain their 7th place standing. Team Raiden couldn’t get a 1st place and had a 0/1/2/1 record to drop from 6th to 8th. The Sega Sammy Phoenix continue to drop with two 4ths this week, pushing the team down to -474.0pts. And the Akasaka Drivens had three 4ths this week, but their performance on Friday made them the best performers on their table to save some face.
Finally, we have the U-Next Pirates. Four 4th for the team, including two by the 2021-22 MVP Mizuhara. Just two weeks ago, the U-Next Pirates were at the very top of the team ranking. Now, they are in 6th place and in the negatives.
And that’s all for this week. Things have changed quite a lot over the past two weeks, with many more weeks left to go in the regular season. Can the Beast X keep rising? Will the U-Next Pirates stop the sinking and float again? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see!
