M-League 2025-26 Week 17: Uchikawa

Standings

The top-performing team this week is Team Raiden. This is Team Raiden’s best performance of the season and their first time as the biggest gainers of the week. On Monday, a daily double by Hagiwara and Setokuma pushed the team into the positives. On Thursday, a 1st by Kurosawa and a 2nd by Honda pushed them even higher. With their efforts, the team is up to 4th in the individual standings.

Special mention is the EX Furinkazan. he EX Furinkazan’s gains this week is, of course, attributed to Uchikawa’s incredible 104,700 win, the highest hanchan so far this season. Added with Aki’s 54,800 1st place earlier in the day, their +199.5pts gain in a single day is a new M-League record. Thanks to those efforts, the team broke the +900.0pts barrier (though they slipped a bit on Friday). They now have more than double the score of the 2nd place Konami Mahjong Fight Club.

The Akasaka Drivens and Beast X both gained as well. Avoiding 4th on both of their days, their big gains came from a daily double by Sonoda and Futoshi on Tuesday, both players finishing above 50,000. The Beast X also avoided 4th in their four games and their week was capped off with a 58,600 1st place by Daisuke, helping to move the team above +300.0pts.

The Kadokawa Sakura Knights, Shibuya Abemas, Sega Sammy Phoenix, Earth Jets and U-Next Pirates lost points this week. Okada tried to balance out her 4th with a 1st later in the week, but the 3rd places by Akutsu and Shibukawa made them slip. The Shibuya Abemas had a double 4th on Thursday which pushed them down by two ranks to 7th place. Similarly, the Sega Sammy Phoenix started the week with a double 4th and they dropped from 4th to 5th. Friday had a double 4th for the Earth Jets, losing the points they gained on Thursday and quite a bit more, dropping them down to below -500.0pts. And the U-Next Pirates couldn’t get 1st and drop points for the fifth week in a row, right on the cusp of falling to -600.0pts.

Finally, we have the Konami Mahjong Fight Club. This was not a nice birthday week for Sasaki Hisato. Both Thursday and Friday featured double 4ths by Date and Hisato, losing quite a lot of ground on the EX Furinkazan. They are now closer to ±0.0pts than they are to 1st place.

And that’s all for this week. Uchikawa had shown quite the performance, but there is still 100 games left to go in the regular season. Can the EX Furinkazan break +1000.0pts? Will anyone be able to break Uchikawa’s score? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see!
