In E1-0, Daisuke starts out the hand at 3-shanten with a connected red 5p. Though the hand looked like a standard hand, he kept drawing pairs. After starting with only a single pair in his first 13 tiles, he already has five pairs on turn 4. At the end of the first row, Daisuke gets to tenpai and calls riichi on a 5p tanki. Two turns later, Mizuhara discards the 5p trying to take iishanten and deals into Daisuke. With Daisuke’s 2s pair being the uradora, Daisuke wins the hand with Riichi/Chiitoi/Aka 1/Ura 2 for 12,000.

In S1-0, Taro is in 4th place, 3,200 behind 3rd place dealer Mizuhara and 8,800 behind 2nd place Hori.
Before Taro gets his first draw, Mizuhara makes the first move of calling pon on her yakuhai east. When we get to Taro, he is 2-shanten with a callable tanyao. He needs the 6s dora to really get things going. On turn 5, he draws the 6s dora to fill in a kanchan and get to iishanten.
Looking around the table, both Mizuhara and and Daisuke have hands that can compete. In the middle of the second row, Daisuke calls a 345p sequence with the red 5p. He does have all of the red fives, but no yaku yet confirmed. He has options for tanyao or sanshoku, but needs the right draws or upgrades. A turn later, he draws a 6m to create a 456m sequence. He is tenpai on a 36s ryanmen, but has no yaku. To get to a yaku, he would either need to shift the 1m away for tanyao or create a 345m sequence and get the 345s sequence for sanshoku.

Taro, however, is successful in getting a sanshoku chance tenpai and tanyao guaranteed. Near the ned of the row, Taro completes a 567m sequence and calls riichi on a 258m three-sided wait. The 2m and 5m will give him a 567 sanshoku which will upgrade him to a haneman.

Calling a 2p triplet with Taro’s riichi tile, Mizuhara gets to tenpai on a 5s kanchan.

Unforunately, Mizuhara draws the 5m on her very next turn and deals into Taro. Taro wins the hand with Riichi/Pinfu/Tanyao/Sanshoku/Dora 1 for 12,000, moving into 2nd.

In E3-1, Nakada is the dealer in 1st place with an 11,800 lead over 2nd place Futoshi.
Nakada starts out the hand at 2-shanten with two ryanmens and an 8m as part of a penchan shape. However, her other shapes are much better than the penchan. As she creaes a 678p sequence and a 1p triplet, Nakada gets to iishanten and discards the 8m dora. She is waiting on eight different tiles for tenpai and guaranteed a good wait.
In the second row, Nakada draws a fourth 1p and calls a concealed kan. Incredibly, the 1p becomes the new andora, upping her hand by 4 han. On her next turn, she gets to tenpai. Though she could take a 14s ryanmen, four of those tiles are gone. Instead, she makes the incredible move of taking a 2s tanki. With the riichi, all four 3s are visible, making it impossible for anyone to use it in a sequence.

Within the go-around, Futoshi gets to tenpai on a 58p ryanmen.

And with another miracle, Nakada manages to draw the 2s on her very next turn to win the hand! With two uradora as well, Nakada wins with Riichi/Ippatsu/Tsumo/Dora 4/Ura 2 for a huge 8,000+100 all baiman, moving her up to 61,700.
