Game 1
Uchikawa

February 2, Game 1, E4-0

In E4-0, Uchikawa is in 3rd place, 100 behind 2nd place Aikawa and 9,300 behind 1st place Daisuke.
Uchikawa starts out the hand at 4-shanten for a standard hand (3-shanten for seven pairs) with a pair of white dragons. The white dragon would be a nice yaku, Uchikawa would rather try and gamble for a bigger hand. On turn 4, Daisuke discards the white dragon and Uchikawa passes. This pass gives Uchikawa a ryanmen block on his next two turns, guaranteeing him a good wait if he leaves it as a pair.
On turn 7 and 8, Uchikawa fills in his ryanmens, securing a 123m iipeikou as well. Being tenpai, he calls riichi on a 36p ryammen. Towards the end of the row, Aikawa calls a kan on the 7s trying to get to tenpai, but fails. As a result of the kan, Uchikawa’s two 1m become the new dora. On his very next turn, he draws the 6p and wins the hand. Uchikawa wins with Riichi/Tsumo/Iipeikou/Dora 2 for 2,000/4,000.

In E1-1, Matsumoto is in 1st place with a small lead after winning a 2,900 hand to start his dealership.
Matsumoto starts out the hand 4-shanten and lacking in value. Removing the terminals and honours in his first row, Matsumoto gets to iishanten with a secured red 5p. In the middle of the second row, Matsumoto gets to tenpai and calls riichi on a 4m kanchan.

Across from him Tojo has already called twice, including on the east. Though she breaks the two 5p from a 34455p shape, she ends up drawing around her other tiles. At the end of the second row, Tojo discards the 3p to secure the 4p pair and gets to tenpai on a 47s ryanmen.

Two turns later, Matsumoto draws the 4m and wins the hand. Matsumoto wins with Riichi/Tsumo/Tanyao/Aka 1 for 4,000+100 all.

In E1-2, Matsumoto starts out at 3-shanten with a pair of red dragons and an isolated dora 9m. In the first row, Matsumoto pairs up the 7p and 2m, putting him just one-away from seven pairs. At the start of the second row, Matsumoto pairs the 9m and calls riichi on a 9s tanki. A few turns later, Aki discards the 9s and deals into Matsumoto. Matsumoto wins the hand with Riichi/Chiitoi/Dora 2 for 12,000+600, pushing Matsumoto up to 52,800.
