In E3-1, Daisuke is in 3rd place, 3,900 behind 2nd place Shiratori and 9,400 behind 1st place dealer Asami. A riichi stick and a honba are in the pot.

Daisuke starts out the hand at 5-shanten, but he has two ryanmens and two 2p dora. In the first six turns, he discards solely terminals and honours, but is only able to get to 3-shanten. In the second row, Daisuke makes a 3445m shape and a 789m sequence, getting him to iishanten.

In the middle of the row, Asami is the first to tenpai, calling pon on the double east and waits on a 3p kanchan.

On Daisuke’s turn, he draws a red 5m to make a ryanmen and guarantee him pinfu. At the start of the third row, Daisuke gets to tenpai and calls riichi on a 36m ryanmen. Guaranteed at least a mangan, a tsumo or a 3m win will give him a haneman.

Immediately after, Shiratori gets to tenpai and calls riichi on a 58m ryanmen.

On Daisuke’s very nexct turn, he draws the 3m and wins the hand. Daisuke wins with Riichi/Ippatsu/Tsumo/Pinfu/Iipeikou/Dora 2/Aka 1 for a huge 4,000+100/8,000+100 baiman plus two riichi sticks, easily moving into 1st place.

In S4-0, Daisuke starts out his final dealership in 2nd place, just 300 behind 1st place Shiratori.

Daisuke starts out the hand at 3-shanten with two ryanmens and a secured dora 5s. In the first row, his only advancement is filling in one ryanmen, getting to 2-shanten. In the second row, Daisuke shifts the hand towards tanyao and makes a 7s triplet. After completing a 678m sequence, Daisuke gets to tenpai and calls riichi on a 23s wait.

A few turns later, Shibata gets to tenpai on a red dragon tanki, tenpai for shousangen and guaranteed a haneman. Unfortunately, none remain in the wall and Asami won’t relinquish the last one with Shibata’s two dragon calls.

In the third row, Daisuke draws the blessed 3s and wins the hand. Daisuke wins with Riichi/Tsumo/Tanyao/Dora 1 for 4,000 all.

In S4-1, Daisuke starts out by drawing the red 5s to get to iishanten. Also in his hand are a south pair and a green dragon pair. Within the first four turns, Daisuke gets to tenpai and calls riichi on a green dragon/south shanpon. Approaching the middle of the second row, Daisuke calls a concealed kan of 3p, though neither the kandora nor rinshan help. In the middle of the third row, Shibata discard sthe south trying to take iishanten and deals into Daisuke. With the green dragon being the uradora, Daisuke wins with Riichi/South/Dora 2/Aka 1 for 12,000+300.

In E2-0, Sonoda is the dealer in a 2nd place tie, 3,000 behind 1st place Shiratori.

Sonoda starts out the hand at 4-shanten with a flexible shape in souzu. The first row gives him a 678s sequence and a 36m ryanmen, getting to iishanten. In the second row, he switches a pinzu penchan for a pinzu ryanmen, guaranteeing him a good wait. In the middle of the row, he adds a 1m dora.

Across from him, Aikawa is already iishanten with two red fives in hand. Towards the end of the row, Aikawa gets to tenpai and waits on a 4m kanchan, but none remain in his hand.

On Sonoda’s turn, he gets to tenpai and calls riichi on a 58p ryanmen. On his very next turn, Sonoda draws the 5p and wins the hand. Sonoda wins with Riichi/Ippatsu/Tsumo/Pinfu/Dora 1/Ura 1 for 6,000 all.
