In S4-0, Kazuma is in 4th place and is 5,600 behind 1st place Shibukawa. To take 1st place, Kazuma needs a 2/50 or 3/25 direct hit, a 3/30 tsumo, or a 3/50 or 4/25 ron.
Kazuma starts out the hand by drawing a 2p dora. However, it is isolated and the only value in his 4-shanten hand. Some nice shapes come to him in the first few turns, but the big news comes on turn 4 when he draws a second 2p. At the start of the second row, he calls pon on the 2p despite not having any clear yaku. With tanyao being the closest, Kazuma breaks his west pair.
By the middle of the second row, Kazuma is iishanten with his tanyao. A turn later, he gets to tenpai on a 7m kanchan, but none remain in the wall. Looking for possible improvements, he calls pon at the end of the row and switches to an 8m tanki. Though improvement is what he wants, he will also accept a winning tile. In the middle of the third row, Kazuma draws the 8m and wins the hand. Kazuma wins with Tanyao/Dora 3 for 2,000/4,000, finishing the game in 1st place.
