Standings
The top-gaining team this week is the Kadokawa Sakura Knights. Even though their 1/2/0/1 record isn’t particularly eye-popping, it was Shibukawa’s +97.8pts win on Tuesday that gave them the big push up. They haven’t escaped 10th just yet, but they’ve closed that gap a bit.
The Shibuya Abemas, Team Raiden, Akasaka Drivens and U-Next Pirates made gains too. They only played on Thursday and they made the most of it, getting a 1st place and 2nd place to increase their lead and strengthen their hold on 6th place. Team Raiden, though, keeps them on a leash, winning a daily double on Monday to stay within reach. The Akasaka Drivens avoided 4th place in all four games, capping off the week with a 51,700 1st place by Sonoda. And the U-Next Pirates big highlight on Tuesday with a 41,300 1st place.
Losing points are the Earth Jets, Beast X, Sega Sammy Phoenix and Konami Mahjong Fight Club. The Earth Jets had an even record, but their 3rd and 4th place was bigger than their 2nd and 1st. The Beast X had a 2nd and 4th on Monday, though the losses by the teams around them meant the gap has closed. The Sega Sammy Phoenix drop to just barely above the negatives after a 2nd and 4th on Tuesday. And the Konami Mahjong Fight Club couldn’t get a 1st place in their four games, dropping them below +800.0pts.
Finally, we have the EX Furinkazan. Uchikawa tried to increase the team’s lead and get them back above +1000.0pts, but he ended up with a 3rd and 4th, including a -14,900 loss. Nagai had a 4th place to drop them even further, but Aki’s 1st place after kept them from disaster.
And that’s all for this week. Just two more weeks, 16 more games, until the end of the regular season. The fight for 6th place, the final playoff spot, is fierce. Who will take it? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see!
