In E1-1, Nagai is tied for 3rd place after being noten against two riichi players.
Nagai starts out the hand at 2-shanten with a triplet of 2m dora guaranteeing him a least a mangan. By the middle of the first row, Nagai gets to tenpai and calls riichi on a 36p ryanmen.

During the ippatsu round, Daigo gets to tenpai and calls riichi on a 7s kanchan.

Calling chii within Daigo’s ippatsu turn, Daisuke calls a 678p sequence and a 3p penchan.

At the start of his second row, Nagai draws the 6p and wins the hand. Nagai wins with Riichi/Tsumo/Dora 3 for 2,000+100/4,000+100 plus three riichi sticks, taking the lead.

In S2-0, Nagai is in 1st place with a 1,500 lead over 2nd place Daisuke.
From the very start, Nagai starts out the hand at iishanten with five different tiles to get a double riichi. Though he didn’t get it, he does till have a three-sided wait and a pair of 1s. On turn 5, he makes a triplet of 7s and calls riichi on a 147m wait. In the middle of the second row, Nagai draws the 4m and wins the hand. Nagai wins with Riichi/Tsumo/Dora 2/Ura 1 for 2,000/4,000.

In E4-0, Asami is in 3rd place, 5,400 behind 2nd plce Daisuke and 16,900 behind 1st place dealer Nagai. For sole 2nd place, she needs a 2/50 or 3/25 direct hit, a 3/40 or 4/20 tsumo, or a 3/50 or 4/25 ron. For 1st place, Asami needs a haneman direct hit or tsumo, or a sanbaiman ron.
Asami starts off at 2-shanten, but lacking in value with the current path. But, with nine souzu tiles, she can take the alternative path of a flush for more value. After upping her count to 11 tiles on turn 4, she starts ot break her 68p block, confirming her pursuit. Before the row is done, she calls a 456s chii for chinitsu iishanten.
At the start of the second row, Asami calls a 123s chii for tenpai, waiting on a 14s ryanmen and guaranteed a haneman. Soon after, Daigo discards the 1s. Though she could wait to try for first place, taking a positive 2nd place is how she wishes to go. Asami wins the hand with Chinitsu/Ittsuu for 12,000, finishing in 2nd place.

Kayamori

In E4-0, Kayamori is in 4th place, 2600 behind 3rd place dealer Tojo, 9,000 behind 2nd place Aki and 14,800 behind 1st place Futoshi.
Kayamori starts out the hand at 4-shanten with a red 5s. In the first row, Kayamori pushes her hand towards tanyao, discarding solely terminals and honours. By the end of the row, she is iishanten with pinfu and tanyao both guaranteed. In the middle of the second row, second row, she gets to tenpai and calls riichi on a 47m ryanmen, guaranteed at least a mangan. Two turns later, Aki discards the 4m trying to call riichi on her own mangan-guaranteed tenpai and deals into Kayamori. Kayamori wins with Riichi/Pinfu/Tanyao/Aka 1 for 8,000, moving her into 2nd place.

In S3-2, Futoshi is in 4th place, 8,700 behind 3rd place Aki, 12,400 behind 2nd place Aki and 16,900 behind 1st place dealer Kayamori.
Futoshi starts out the hand at 4-shanten with two ryanmens and a path to both tanyao and pinfu. Within the first five turns, he is already iishanten with a ryanmen but still lacking a pair. Over the next few turns, he makes a 23345s shape into a 33456s shape, finding the pair that he needs. With a 456m sequence confirmed and a floating 4p, he also adds the posibility of a 456 sanshoku.
On turn 8, he draws a 5p and calls riichi on a 36p ryanmen. If he can win of the 6p, he will have a haneman. Towards the end of the second row, Tojo discards the 3p trying take a haneman tenpai and deals into Futoshi. Though it isn’t a haneman, Futoshi still wins with Riichi/Pinfu/Tanyao/Dora 1 for 8,000+600, escaping 4th place going into the final hand.
