M-League 2025-26 Week 19: Approach

Standings

The top gainer this week is the EX Furinkazan. They broke +1000.0pts and went even further. The game that pushed them above was Aki’s very close 29,200 win. On Friday, Nagai got his 13th win of the season, tying the M-League record with two months still left to go. By the end of the week, they were at +1090.8pts. The M-League record for highest score is +1132.5pts by the Akasaka Drivens last season. The team is just a 1st place away from breaking the record.

The Sega Sammy Phoenix, Shibuya Abemas, Konami Mahjong Fight Club, U-Next Pirates and Team Raiden all gained as well. It was a very exciting week for the Sega Sammy Phoenix with Takaki’s return, leading them to double 1st place on Thursday to get to 4th place. The Shibuya Abemas move into 6th place and playoff position thanks to positive results from all players, with Hinata leading the charge with a 1st place. The Konami Mahjong Fight Club move up to 2nd place after Takizawa had two 2nds and a 1st place. The U-Next Pirates break their 6-week dropping streak with Yu getting a 67,100 1st place and followed with a 40,400 2nd place by Nakabayashi. And Team Raiden had 1sts by Hagiwara and Honda to make a small gain.

The Earth Jets, Beast X and Kadokawa Sakura Knights lost points this week. Though the Earth Jets were the best performers at their table on Friday, it wasn’t enough to displace their two 3rds and two 4ths at the start of the week. The Beast X also had tough results, getting a double 4th on Tuesday to push them to 3rd. The Kadokawa Sakura Knights had three 4ths this week, including a back-to-back negative 4th place by Hori on Friday.

Finally, we have the Akasaka Drivens. The team dropped points in all four of their games. On Thursday, they had a 3rd and a 4th. On Friday, it was worse with a double 4th. With these losses, they drop out of playoff position, down to 7th place.

And that’s all for this week and the month of January! Only two more months in the M-League regular season! Will the EX Furinkazan break the M-League record? Will Nagai break the M-League win record? As always, we’ll just have to wait and see!
